Nutrition & health information

Descriptions of nutrients and compounds on this website are provided for general informational purposes only. They are not intended as, and should not be relied on as, medical, nutritional, or dietary advice. Statements about nutrients or plant compounds have not been evaluated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and our products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

Nutrient content in fresh microgreens varies with variety, growing conditions, and harvest timing. If you have a medical condition, are pregnant or nursing, or take medication, please consult a qualified healthcare provider before making changes to your diet.

Fulfillment & delivery area

Crown Cut delivers inside a roughly 25-minute drive of Kansas City’s Northland (starting from ZIP 64153, Zona Rosa). All orders are cut fresh on harvest day and go out for local delivery that same afternoon. Pickup is also available at [farmers market — announcing soon] during market hours.

If your ZIP isn’t in the current delivery area, we aren’t open there yet — the list expands as the route grows. Signup on the home page is gated by ZIP so nobody is added to the list for an area we can’t reach.

Handling & storage

Our microgreens are fresh, raw produce. We recommend keeping them refrigerated, and rinsing before serving if desired. Use within the “best by” window on the container for the best flavor and texture. As with any raw produce, consumers who are immunocompromised, elderly, pregnant, or feeding young children may wish to take extra care.

Allergen & facility notice

Broccoli, kale, and radish microgreens are members of the Brassicaceae (mustard/cabbage) family. Radish shares the family with mustard, a labeled allergen in some jurisdictions.

TODO: Add a facility statement that reflects your growing area—e.g., “Grown in a facility that also handles [X]” or “Grown in a dedicated microgreens facility.” If your facility is home-based and your state requires a “Made in a Home Kitchen / This Product Has Not Been Inspected” style disclosure, add that language here.

Accessibility

We aim for this website to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. If you encounter a barrier using this site—a hard-to-read color, a control you can’t operate with the keyboard, missing alt text, or anything else—please let us know at the contact address below and we’ll do our best to fix it promptly.

Product images & descriptions

Photos and descriptions are provided to give a general sense of each variety. Actual product may vary in color, size, and yield depending on the growing conditions and the individual harvest.

Privacy

This website does not use cookies, does not run analytics or advertising trackers, and does not embed third-party widgets that phone home—no social share buttons, ad pixels, chat widgets, or embedded videos. Loading any page of this site does not transmit personal information about you to us or to any third party beyond the ordinary IP-address logging performed by our web host to deliver the page and to keep the service secure.

Newsletter signup. The signup form on the home page collects one thing: the email address you type in. When you submit it, we ask Resend (our email service provider) to send you a confirmation email. Your address is not added to any list, and we do not retain it, unless and until you click the confirmation link. If you confirm, your address is stored in our Resend audience and used to send you newsletter emails; every newsletter email includes a one-click unsubscribe link. If you never confirm, the signed confirmation token expires in 24 hours and no record of your address remains. We do not sell, rent, or trade newsletter emails.

Contact you initiate. If you email or call us using the details in the Contact section, we will use your message and your contact details only to respond to you and to keep the record of our correspondence. We do not share, sell, rent, or trade your contact information.

Data subject rights. Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK Data Protection Act, and comparable U.S. state laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), you have the right to request access to any personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. To make such a request, email dave@crowncut.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.

California residents. We do not “sell” or “share” personal information as those terms are defined in the CCPA/CPRA.

Children. This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Cookies. This site sets no cookies.

Analytics & advertising. We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any other third-party analytics or advertising trackers.

Service providers. The only third party involved in operating this site today is Resend, which delivers the newsletter confirmation email and, after you confirm, any future newsletter emails. Their processing of your email address is covered by Resend’s own privacy policy. Our web host processes IP addresses in ordinary server logs as needed to deliver the site.

Instagram grow logs. Some variety pages offer an embedded Instagram post so you can follow that variety’s current grow cycle. To keep the site cookie-free by default, we do not load anything from Instagram on page load; you see a placeholder card with a “Load post” button. Only if you click that button does Instagram’s embed script fetch the post, at which point Meta may set cookies and log the request. If you never click it, nothing is loaded from Instagram at all.

External links. When you click an external link (for example, a Wikipedia entry from a product page), the destination site’s own privacy practices apply.

Changes. If we ever add forms, accounts, ordering, cookies, or analytics to this site, this section will be updated first and the change noted prominently.

External links

This website may link to third-party sites (for example, Wikipedia entries on individual varieties). We provide those links for convenience only and are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or privacy practices of any external site.

Governing law

TODO: Add a “These terms are governed by the laws of the State of [ ]” sentence naming your operating state. If you have a preferred venue for disputes, note it here as well.
Not legal advice. The language above is a starter template drafted from common practice for a small food-producer website. Before relying on it, please have a licensed attorney familiar with food law and consumer protection in your state review and adjust it for your specific operation, sales channels, and jurisdiction.
